Got me. I reacted too quickly. I saw three salmon fish and automatically assumed they were the same without actually reading the question properly. 👍

Yes, this question is pretty hard. It is deceiving.

While all of the so-called salmons are usually anadromous (spending their infancy in fresh water before migrating to salt water and then returning to fresh water to spawn and lay their eggs) there are populations of all the salmons that are landlocked and never enter a salt water environment. What is more, RainbowTrout frequently occurr in anadromous populations and mirgrate to salt water. A case in point are Steelhead of the Pacific Northwest. These are sea going RainbowTrout that migrate to the Pacific Ocean and then return to fresh water in order to spawn. I recognized this as a trick question and deduced the correct answer… maybe there was some luck involved too.

Interesting question. Because of three salmon and one trout, I assumed it was the trout. Just goes to show, assumptions are the wrong answer

Tricky, but I got it. I live in the Pacific NW, and although I don't fish, I knew that the other 3 fish are all native to this area.

Melody Buchanan, I've caught rainbow trout that had white meat. I've also caught the same species that had nice pink meat. It just depends upon what they eat.

Saltwater, freshwater!

Pat Salloum, this was an easy question for me as I’m an avid fisherman and have read much on salmonid evolution. Pacific salmon and rainbow trout were named Salmo until around 1988

A trout is white meat and salmon are a pink meat.

I would have thought that the saltwater fish would have been different from the fresh water fish!?
